What's Up Wednesday

It's time for What's Up Wednesday!

What I'm Reading
It stopped raining! I braved the giant puddles and picked Cress up from the library and am now waiting for the weekend so I can dive in with out as many interruptions. I read Iron Kissed by Patricia Briggs. It's been awhile since I've read a series that wasn't a trilogy or something short and watching her build a world broad enough and with a big enough cast of characters to support so many books has gotten my imagination going.

What I'm Writing
I am still revising Slumber. I'm mulling over some ideas for JuNoWriMo but only a little. I'm trying to stay as immersed in Slumber's world as I can until I get this round of revisions done.

What Inspires Me Right Now
This video and my homemade vanilla bean coffee syrup. I'm enjoying both right now!

What Else I've Been Up To
I've been taking my kids to the library, over and over and over... my bookworm problem has passed down to my children, especially my seven year old. It is hard to keep him supplied with fresh reading material!  I love it!
Other than that I've been brainstorming ways to make my house feel more like "mine" inside. I'm grateful for military housing but I'm tired of feeling like my house looks like, well military housing. I want it to jump out ME when people walk in. So far this brainstorming has resulted in the purchase of several blank canvases and some spray paint...

  2. I loved the Mercy Thompson series when I read it a while back. I devoured it. So fun that it's firing up your imagination. Yay for revisions to Slumber and having the discipline to stick with it. And yay for the library and having a bookworm. There is no greater gift. My kids tend to come in and out of reading... and I can't get my 7 year old to move past Magic Treehouse. He finally finished the series (he read all 51, in order) and I'm hoping that the lack of another book in the series (until later this Spring) will finally get him onto something else.

  3. Hi Sarah! I don't think I've ever hopped to your blog before, so it's nice to meet you! Keep it up on your revisions for Slumber. One thing I struggle with is having the discipline to stay in my current WiP's world, especially when I have a shiny new idea tugging at me. I'm sure you've already done this, but I suggest Pinterest for lots of DIY home decor. I've figured out there's a lot you can do that doesn't involve a major overhaul. Your canvas idea reminded me that I wanted to get some canvases and cute scrap fabric to staple over it. Voila! Instant wall art. Best of luck with decorating and revisions!

  4. I started reading School for Good and Evil today (arrived yesterday in the mail) and it is a great book. Glad you enjoyed reading your book and keep writing. I'm sure Slumber will be great when you're done.
