What I'm Writing I'm still drafting "Simmer". I'm behind my JuNoWriMo goal but I am hoping to catch up. Yesterday I spent my writing time working on a plot twist. My original idea wasn't enough to carry the book to the end. It needed something more. I'm hoping my changes and additions work!
What Else I've Been Up To I'm trying to come up with a summer "bucket list" of sorts. I saw a blog hop that involved posting your list. I might join. The idea is so that you can have an intentional summer. I love that idea. There are so many things I want to do with my kids while school is out but its easy to just let the summer pass by.
What Inspires Me Right Now I am inspired by my children's entushiasm towards summer and life.
Here is the link I found for the Summer Bucket List Blog Hop. I want to join but I've been busy catching up on my JuNoWriMo goals, so we will see if I can squeeze it in! If not I want to at least have some sort of activity list at home.
I really enjoyed The Moon and more by Sarah Dessen and right now I'm enjoying the Emily Chambers series. good luck with JuNoWriMo!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the suggestions! I've been wanting to read something by Sarah Dessen and I haven't heard of the Emily Chambers series.
DeleteA summer bucket list?! I'm in!
ReplyDeleteI loved THE MADMAN'S DAUGHTER! Right now I'm reading MY LIFE NEXT DOOR and loving it. But I know that feeling of staring at the twenty books I want to read and wondering what will be next. Not a bad problem. :)
I hope you have a wonderful writing week!
I love having a huge TBR list but its so hard to decide what to read next! Here is the link for the summer bucket list blog hop I found. http://littlewondersdays.blogspot.com/2013/05/come-join-summer-bucket-list-party-link.html
DeleteI like the idea of "an intentional summer." I have enough ongoing projects that for me it's less of a bucket list and more of making sure I make a little progress on each project each week. But for sure the hours I lose to silly online games and web surfing are not intentional! I'll have to keep that phrase in mind.
ReplyDeleteI like the intentional idea too as I tend to spend to much time on things that aren't even the things I really want to be doing.
DeleteA summer bucket list? I am intrigued!
ReplyDeleteI added the link in my main post! I thought it was such a wonderful idea.
DeleteGood luck hitting your JuNoWriMo target!
ReplyDeleteHmm... well, I'd recommend The 5th Wave, but if sci-fi's not your thing, I've been reading John Marsden's "Tomorrow When The War Began" series. It's amazing and there are seven books to sink your teeth into!
Thanks for the suggestions! I saw the 5th Wave at the book store. It looked good. I do like some sci-fi and I'll have to look up that series. The name sounds intriguing.
DeleteIf you haven't read Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo, I highly recommend it. The sequel just came out, and it is even better. I love what you say about your children. Kids have a way of embracing summer's true nature and design so well. We can learn so much from them.
ReplyDeleteI haven't read that yet. Thanks for the suggestion!
DeleteThere is a lot to learn from children, that's for sure :)
"My Intentional Summer." Now you've got me thinking of story titles!
ReplyDeleteHehe, that would be a fun title. I added a the link for the blog I found the idea on if you want to check it out :)
DeleteI can't wait for the sequel either. I loved The Madman's Daughter. Good luck with your plot twist!
ReplyDeleteIt was a great book!
DeleteI'm eagerly waiting for the sequel to THE MADMAN'S DAUGHTER too. Wasn't that ending crazy? I wish we didn't have to wait until next year! Hope you have a wonderful writing week!
ReplyDeleteIt was crazy. I didn't see it coming. I was so sad when I saw how far the release date for the next book is!
DeleteGreat ideas, Sarah. Isn't it fun to have little people around? Even everyday things are exciting for them, so they renew your enthusiasm. Best wishes,
ReplyDeleteIt is fun! I love the way they view the world.
