IWSG

I forgot that today was Insecure Writer's Support Group!!!
I guess my biggest struggle lately would be using my writing time productively.  How does one stretch a small amount of time and make it cover blogging, drafting, reading, studying craft, revising,  critiquing... and I'm sure there is more.  Right now I just fit in what fits but its hard to make much progress that way.  What I need is more time...  why is time so elusive?
I'd love to here any advice you might have to offer!
Happy New Year!  I hope its full of great stories and lots of writing!

  1. If you figure out the answer to this one, let me know! LOL - I think we have seasons of being better at productivity and some seasons we flop at it. I'm right there with you. I also homeschool and understand the demands of running a home, schooling and writing. As soon as I make a plan, LIFE seems to get in the way! I think its mostly a matter of not quitting and doing SOMETHING towards our goals (whatever they happen to be for the day) - even if its small towards our goals every day. And always be flexible :) God bless you as you keep writing!

    1. Ok! I don't know that I will lol... You are very right about quitting/being flexible. Flexible is a hard way to be some days but it really is a great quality.

  2. I never feel like I have enough time in the day. But, I'm also a list person, so as long as I can see some progress every day, I feel like I am accomplishing things. Good luck.

  3. Happy New Year, and the best way i can tell you to find time is to be selfish at 5am (or what ever time works for you before the family is up). Use that time to work on your dream.

    1. Yeah. I need to get better about that. Maybe I should stock up on coffee...

  4. Someone should create a time generator so that we can create more hours in the day, and use them for what we need to. Of course, it's not so much time that's my problem, but all the little things (like children) demanding my attention. Even if I had more time, I think they would still consume it. But if there was some way to translate that time into child-nap-time, then THAT would be awesome! :D

    1. A time generator would be awesome and you are right, that time would still get eaten up.

  5. Time is truly elusive but we just have to try our best.

  6. Finding time is so difficult! But when something is important to us, I suppose we make small sacrifices. Getting up earlier or going to bed later is usually the advice, I don't know. I think you're doing it by fitting in what you can here and there. Happy 2014 ;)

  7. No real advice here…just do what you can do, and don't worry about it!

  8. Plus we gotta eat and sleep and do laundry and spend time with the family. Oh...and walk the dog.

I say, let's forget about the laundry.

Good luck sorting it all out.
