Celebrate the Small Things

It is time for VicLit's Celebrate the Small Things!

Today I'm going to celebrate something that I commonly overlook.  I'm going to celebrate my favorite window.  We have lived in a lot of different houses over the past few years and in each one I have a window that I love looking out more than all the rest. My current favorite looks out over our back yard.  Behind our yard is a walking path that weaves through a wooded area.  Some days I look out and see children on scooter's or people walking their dogs.  On other days I am greeted by a herd of deer grazing near the trees and my goofy lab/Dane puppy bounding the fence line, trying to get them to play with him.  During thunder storms I have a perfect view of the lighting over the trees.  Right now my fence is serving as a perch for some very plump birds.
Do you have a favorite window?

  1. My favorite is in the library and overlooks the field across the street. Yours sounds wonderful!

  2. My current favourite window is at my in-laws house, looking down a valley and out to sea in the very distance. Although yesterday I went for a walk slightly out of town, and every house we passed had a window I was envious of.

  3. This sounds just amazing. I wish I had a window to look out of when I write. I look into a big ugly wall. None of the views out of our house has your awesome views though. I have an award on my blog for you.

  4. My writing desk sits in a alcove at the top of our house. I can see storms coming over the trees and have birds nesting outside the window.

  6. What a great thing to celebrate. That's one thing that's lacking in my place and something that will be top on my list in my next place - a decent view out the windows. Love your descriptions. They make me want to take a peek. :) Writer’s Mark

  7. That's a great thing to celebrate, Sarah. You're right, we often forget to celebrate and appreciate those things. I have something else for you to celebrate. I nominated you for a blogging award. Please stop by www.dhdunne.blogspot.com to find out more.
