What's up Wednesday

It's time for What's up Wednesday!  If you would like to join or learn more please check out please click here.
What I'm Reading:  I am reading "Looking For Alaska" by John Green.
What I'm Writing:  I haven't done much writing this week.  I had to postpone some of my goals so that I could keep up with other areas of my life.  I have been working on a subplot for "Simmer" and hiding from my revisions...  I think I burnt myself out slightly so I'm trying to relax so I am ready for JuNoWriMo.
What Inspires Me Right Now: Coffee!  After a refrigerator catastrophe (two in to days to be precise) and a crazy week, its about all I can think about.  Hopefully I will have something deeper next week.
What Else I've Been Up To:
I've been cleaning, recovering from the afore mentioned refrigerator adventure and celebrating my baby's second birthday.

What have you guys been up to?

  4. I still have yet to read LOOKING FOR ALASKA, despite having owned a copy for over a year now. I've heard good things about it, so I'll have to get on that sometime soon.

  5. I really need to read LOOKING FOR ALASKA. It's been in my TBR pile for a long time now! I know what you mean about burning yourself out. When I do that, I have to take off from writing for a few weeks to recharge. Good luck with JuNoWriMo!

  6. Yeah, sometimes life happens and writing doesn't. Oh well. Enjoy the time of relaxation before JuNoWriMo! And happy birthday to your "baby"--though at two, I wonder if "baby" is still appropriate... what am I saying? My 19-yr-old daughter is still my baby!! :)

    1. Yeah, he is getting less babyish ever day but he's my youngest so I have a feeling I will be calling him my baby for as long as I can get away with it :)

  8. The only John Green book I've read so far is THE FAULT IN OUR STARS, but I definitely need to check out more of his. The refrigerator catastrophe sounds ominous. Hope that's all sorted out! And I think many people would agree that there's much inspiration to found in a good cup of coffee! It's like brain fuel. :)

    1. Coffee is amazing. Did you like The Fault In Our Stars"?
So far the fridge seems to be working. I'm very happy about that!

  9. There is a special place in my heart for John Green. I love his writing/characters. Looking for Alaska was the first book I read by him, the second was Paper Towns, and the third was The Fault In Our Stars. The last ripped my heart out, and I can honestly say that the second is my favorite. I need to read his other novel An Abundance of Katherines one day, and Will Grayson, Will Grayson. My TBR list is getting longer and longer each day, so who knows when I'll get around to reading them. So much to read, so little time.

And it's good to take a break, if you're feeling burned out. Hopefully once you're ready to start back up again, you'll be able to write with fresh eyes. Good luck with JuNoWriMo. :)

  10. Oh no, fridge catastrophes are never a good thing. Hope all is back to normal. YAY for 2 year olds. They are so much fun. I never felt that whole idea of "terrible two" was valid. Two year olds have so much fun figuring out how the world works, they are super to be around. ENJOY!

  11. It sounds like you're very busy. Two year olds are fun, so don't put too much stock in people who think it's a terrible time for the little folks. They're just learning to explore everything and they're so cute.
    Best wishes.

    1. very true. I think people automatically think two will be hard because its been called terrible so often. It has its moments to be sure, but I agree that they are just learning and they are adorable!

  12. Life adventures in the Sarah household continues! I have to see if you've written a story about your refrigerator trials yet or not. :) Hope things have settled, that the cleaning time is satisfyingly completed, and that you'll be ready for the June writing challenge. And happy birthday to the 2-year-old! Writer’s Mark

  14. I've got that Alaska book on my TBR, though I admit it's been there a while by now. Sometimes it does take me a while to get around to reading these books. :)

I'm here for the blitz as well! :D

  20. Don't feel bad about having to take a break from writing. My writing projects have been butted out by my nightmarishly long list of assignments (mainly essays) that need to be done, followed by exams. So that's what I've been up to haha. This What's Up Wednesday thing is a grand idea though. I need something on my blog to match one of the days of the week as it may make it easier to ensure more regular posts. Does it help hoy in that respect??
